I've got a long shirt thing that's default red and gold but if you dye it literally any other color the gold turns silver. Gunmetal can give a good fake leather look but sometimes it will look cheap and plastic like, sometimes dye hides the details of clothing, other times only patches will dye. Sometimes black dye is needed, sometimes it makes the clothing look lighter. Once you get past the cost you get to deal with dyes. Unless you can craft your own stuff the best looking items either cost a ton or are on mogstation. Garland Tools in general has a lot of handy features, though I linked you straight to the database part.Įasy and fun? Yes. I also use this website when I'm crafting to keep track of all the items I need to get, and it makes it easier to look where to find them. So say you like something but it's Scouting and you don't play NIN, look it up and it might be available for Striking too or something. Lastly, would also suggest Garland Tools, as you can look up an armour piece and it can tell you the Shared Models aka what other pieces look just like it. It can also help find interesting stuff that might match well with it, though you might have to wade through some less creative glams. Or if it's purchasable/sellable you could just pop in-game and try it on. This may help give you a better idea what it will look like on your character, assuming someone of your character's race and gender has made a glam with it. I quite like the Gearsets section tbh.įrom Gearsets, you can look up glams people have used with certain items (can also do this from other's glamours, it's the magnifier button next to the armour piece). It also has a Gearsets section, though it doesn't have everything you can find some more with FFXIV Armoury Collection though no back view and view of seperate pieces like EC. You've definitely got to filter to the job(s) you want (possibly race and gender too, but be prepared to not find much if you're an unpopular race) and select "show only selected job" so you don't get a bunch of casual wear. I find Eorzea Collection a great way to find armours, though I don't think I use it the same way some people here are where they just browse. Surprised only one person has actually suggested using the website mentioned in the title.
